Commission Split

It just depends on the agency. The truth is there are no set contracts. It just depends on who you talk to. Check your local help wanted ads. The younger the agency, the less production an agency makes, the more willing they will give you a larger piece of the pie. The more established, the less they will give you.

It just depends on the owner of that agency. Based on my experience and what I've seen in my area, it's going to be around 50%-80% for new business. Renewal business range from 40%-70% if you are doing all the work and zero benefits from the agency.

In my opinion, don't take anything lower than 50% new business, 50% renewal business.
Agreed...

At my agency I pay:
Year 1 - 75% New and Renewal
Year 2 - 70% New and Renewal
Year 3 - 65% New and Renewal
Year 4 - 60% New and Renewal
Year 5 - 55% New and Renewal
Over 5 completed years is 50% in (while actively employed) perpetuity
