RushCard Breakdown Affects Thousands of Prepaid Debit Card Users
From the New York Times:
For much of the last week, scenes like those played out for hundreds of thousands of low-income Americans who use prepaid debit cards instead of banks. A technical problem had blocked account access for holders of one of the most popular prepaid cards, RushCard.
And more:
Nearly a quarter of these cardholders earn less than $15,000 a year. They are forced to turn to prepaid cards because they lack the standing to get a credit card or are unable or unwilling to open a traditional bank account.
Translation - They suck at money.
If you all get some missed payments, this could be the culprit.
