How do you guys recommend getting started for local traffic to your sites?

A few starter options:
Optimize your site pages for local keyword phrases (ex:Myrtle Beach Financial, etc.)
Google Adwords using keywords to drive local traffic
Traditional Marketing (direct mail, advertising, email, etc) making some type of offer available on your site (free ebook, podcast, etc regarding an engaging or controversial topic) in exchange for their contact info (generally name and email address)
