I can't seem to find any info online about this topic, and hope someone here can give me advice. I am looking for a new insurance provider. My main concern is that I be able to go to any doctor I want, or as close to that as I can get, and if I have a serious health problem, can see the specialist of my choice. Don't care if I have a high deductible, as I rarely visit the doctor anyway. I am 60, female, in great shape, low cholesterol and BP, no health problem history. I live half the year in Oregon and half in Florida, travel frequently so would like to be covered overseas too. Currently have Kaiser, and pay $1100/month for myself alone- it used to be pretty good, but now they provide Oregon welfare recipients with the same plan, so have spread doctors and services too thin, takes forever to be seen.

I have a license for FL, but not Oregon. Running quotes in Oregon compared to FL, you'll see Aetna, Cigna and AARP Aetna in both states, with a large enough doctor network in both states. All plans you choose will be PPO's, meaning you can choose any doctor you want within the network (which will cover over 80% of the doctors).

If you are a resident of Oregon (which I assume since Kaiser not sold in FL), buy an OR based policy from an OR agent on this board. If you are looking to become a FL resident, then I can assist.

Your current plan is probably an HMO (no choice), and for that price, you best be getting FREE healthcare with a $0 deductible. If you're in good health like you are, you are paying way too much.

Hello,

I have some options avaialble to you. I am licensed in FL and can be in OR quickly if needed.

There are very few ways to go to ANY Dr you want and stay in network, but I can think of one!

Send me an email at [email protected]

I live and am licensed in Florida, next time you're here (if you haven't already) obtained a driver's license and use your address in Florida. Don't know about Kaiser but quite a few companies cover you overseas for emergencies only.
