I started looking at renewal notices for my clients in Georgia and it looks like Humana is planning on upgrading current plans to ACA compliant levels instead of switching to 2014 plans.
The rates (without subsidy) are significantly higher (at least 100%) but still lower than comparable 2014 plans (and in the same range as the least expensive Bronze plan with the National POS Network).
As an example, a family of 5, parents in their 40's on a Enhanced Copay 80, $5K deductible, current premium $372
Is being transitioned to Enhanced Copay 80, $3500 deductible, premium of $805.
In 2014, a Bronze 6300 POS plan is $757 and the comparable Silver plan ($4650 deductible) is $967.
Has anyone else noticed this? I don't have Florida renewals yet so don't know if they are doing the same thing in other states. My recommendation for clients who are not subsidy eligible will probably be to keep this plan.
