I was in car accident and things are moving slow

I was in car a accident,police filed report, and we are 100% sure it is other party fault.
We have dash cam video where it is clear what happened.
We hired Attorney and started seeing doctors for my injury.
Our Attorney told us to stop communicate with our or other party insurance.
Our car is not drivable.
But now, 9 days after accident still no word or action from my lawyer, both insurance companies continue calling me saying "we have not received anything from your lawyer and we need your statement".
I was just told that i need to be patient and everything takes time.
The fact insurance companies have not received anything yet (letter of representation,video,pics of accident) worries me.
Lack of communication with lawyer and not being able to drive my car is not helping either.
My understanding is - i have to wait for other party to accept liability,after that i can contact their insurance and file claim for car repair while my lawyer will take care of medical bills.
But is it normal to wait this long for my Attorney to get things moving?
Also the police report should be available by now . Of course no word about that too.
My insurance wants to help me to get my car repaired asap but i can not release any info to them because my Attorney said so.

You have collision coverage, yes? Then tell your lawyer that you are making the collision claim on your own policy and he can continue working on the injury claim.

Then you can give your own insurance adjuster whatever is needed to get your car fixed and not be concerned about the other insurance company.

It'll be months before anything is settled on that anyway, maybe longer.

He works for you. You tell him what's what.

Why in the world did you lawyer up so soon?

My son got t-boned 2 months ago . Had liability only. American Family paid he claim and much more than he thought super fast .But he had gone to a chiro as his back was hurt . They waited till the claim was paid and the chiro has a “lawyer” friend and their sueing.

He better make sure that any document he signed did not say final settlement. Generally, any bodily injury claim is not settled until the patient stops seeing the specialist.
