Ellison is a different matter and it would be a major mistake for him to lead the dnc. We can discuss all the reasons why because they go way beyond his support of Luis Farrakhan.

However, to convolute that potential appointment with the muck Bannon is mired in is only meant as a distraction and justification for his past behaviors and stances. This is the ugliness of nationalism. The unopened nativist tendencies to exclude outside of the majority culture. Right now it's hip to be anti-Muslim, it's all the rage among the populists, but underlying that is the racism and anti-semitism and all the other nasty stuff. The term "law and order" seems pretty innocuous, who doesn't want law and order? So here we are with some people who are deplorable in positions of influence - let's not forget Michael Flynn is much to racist and pro-Russian to pass a senate confirmation either - over a man who ran a racially charged campaign. I am hoping for the best, but there is no sugar coating what some of these people believe.
