I'm trying to get $15,000 level coverage for a healthy 79-year old with Atrial fibrillation. He just takes a small daily dose of Lopressor for it.

Does the atrial fibrillation make this a graded policy with most of the carriers? Has anyone of you called an underwriter before with this question?

The prospective client is a non-smoker in California and would like to avoid a graded policy.

Any carriers come to mind for him? Thanks in advance.

Thanks on Oxford, I would like to avoid a call to underwriting if possible.

Is A-Fib really considered as "heart disorder" or "heart condition"? My guess is that it certainly would be if the client dies in the first 2 years of the policy.

Why would you want to avoid calling underwriting??

That's the best way to do it if you have questions.

BTW, RNA doesn't ask about Afib.

Thank you all for the input, much appreciated. I called underwriting and got my answer, it's graded with all the carriers I'm using.
