How will Nationwide continue to support their captives and also maintain a company that is a direct threat to those same agents?

Just for fun, i called harleyville. they have a recording, saying they are have a company event, and call back later!. Interesting. They must be installing the blue phones.

OMG ! Guess the Nationwide customer service team must already be in charge Exactly the way I'd handle my phones if I ran a 3 Billion dollar company

Gee, do you think we should answer the phones? Nah. Shows the new quailty of their service.

The same way they support agents in the west who have to compete against Allied and independent agents have to compete with Travelers trying to sell direct and The Hartford selling the AARP program... whoever can close the deal gets it. I have no idea why somebody would want to be a nationwide agent in that situation but I can understand why Nationwide/Allied/Harleysville would want multiple distrubution channels. They don't care where the premium is coming from.
