You need to come up with a different term. "Drive by" has a much different meaning in CA then it has in the othert 56 states.

You can email forever unsolicited even as long as you do list the address in the footer and do honor opt out requests.

I don't really recommend jumping into email if you don't already know how to do those things properly. It's not super easy to email market, you'd be better off buying email blasts if you don't already know how to do it compliantly.
