Does anyone know of a rater that I can embed in my website so customers can submit info to me for a quote?

search old threads on here. you will find plenty of info, including pos/neg reviews of particular brands (i.e.ezlynx, itc turborater, etc).

another thing you may want to consider is creating your own quote form. you'll be surprised how easy it is to do and set up. that way, you can customize it the way you like it.

Does an instant quote on your website help get more sales compared to just gathering the information needed to run a quote and contact the prospect?

that's an excellent question! both ways have their pros and cons, but I think the answer depends on the agency and how it is set up. consider these:
- do all of the carriers you sell allow the customer to quote online?
- are all of the products that you sell available for the customer to quote online? (this one gets a lot of agents)
- can your agency consistently make contact within minutes of receiving a quote?

those questions carry a lot of weight in your decision.
