Policy Rescissions

It's all okay with me, but is it clear that everyone pays the same premium?

Someone in need of high expense medical treatment is not going to pay the same as someone who doesn't, assuming that they are not getting a free ride.

This thing has just gotten started. If you're making $200K annually and have a host of medical issues, they are going to allow rate ups.

Not arguing with anyone, just looking beyond some of the inital gibberish that they've claimed. A lot is going to change between now and 2014.

Small group is GI, but they get rated all of the time.

At this point, nothing is clear.

If the "group model" is adopted there is a blended rate with variances allowed for age bands only.

Otherwise there will still be rate ups (that are capped at base premium + X) depending on your medical history.

Some small group carriers charge a composite rate while others use step rates.

Last time I looked community rating was one of the precepts and we know how well that works.

Not!

The only thing you can say for sure is DC has no clue and will never understand. Just look at how they fricked up the mortgage market.

They have already granted waivers to McDonald's and 30 other firms for mini-meds. They are considering waivers on the grandfather provisions for larger group plans. By this time next year there will be so many waivers and exemptions they will end up pissing off the 30% or so that approve of Obamacare.
