I have a client who has a son that was just recently diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. She needed to get a decline letter so her son would be eligible for the state's high risk pool.
We signed her son up with Humana and a few days later we were suprised to learn that he was accepted. They rated him up 25% for ADD yet they didn't rate him up for having Tourrete's.
I called Humana and they pointed out that it says in the underwriting guide that it's not an issue with them.
