Question on Winflex and Lifespeed?

Hello -- I am a non-insurance person studying the adoption of technology in the insurance industry. I came across some technology products and was trying to understand a) what exactly they did? b) why insurance companies needed them c) whether there are many similar products?

The products I am interested in just getting a basic 101 on are as follows -
1) Winflex
2) Lifespeed
3) Annuitynet
4) Facts
5) LuminX
6) EGlobal
7)Winbeat
8) EbixAdvantage

Would greatly appreciate any help in understanding what exactly these products do?
