IMPORTANT: Update to IMG’s Patriot Travel Series and Visitors Care Products

Dear Valued Producer,

Effective September 1, 2020, International Medical Group (IMG®) is pleased to announce updates to their Patriot America Plus and Patriot America Platinum plans that will include coverage for COVID-19 on new business if contraction and treatment occur after the effective date. Other benefit and plan changes to our premier short-term travel medical products for U.S. visitors will include:
  • Repatriation/Return of Mortal Remains coverage if death is due to COVID-19*
  • Limited policy maximum options for insureds 65+ years old
  • Rate increases will apply accordingly
Customers who would like to renew or extend their existing plans set to expire on or after September 1st and wish to receive the new benefits should let their plan expire and then purchase a new plan. Extending or renewing their existing plan will not provide the additional benefits listed above.

In addition to the changes described above, all Patriot International, Patriot America, and Visitors Care products will undergo a carrier change and product wording modifications.

The Patriot Series and Visitors Care products will change from their existing carrier, Sirius International Insurance Corporation, to a new carrier within the Sirius Group, Sirius Specialty Insurance Corporation. The policy wordings for these plans will also be updated with new language under Conditions and General Provisions as well as Pandemic Exclusions.

The carrier and product wording updates will apply to all existing and new business with effective dates of September 1st or later, in addition to all renewals and extensions made on or after September 1st.

Customers who have already purchased a Patriot Travel Series or Visitors Care plan that is not yet effective will receive this email on September 1st informing them of the change. Customers who already have a plan in effect will be notified of the carrier change at the time of their next extension or renewal.
