My dad had a $5,000 whole life policy that was purchased in 1979 through Traveler's (now Metlife). How do I find out what it was worth? All dividends were reinvested.

Is your dad still alive? If so, call them with him next to you. Ask for info or certificate of coverage

No, he passed away in January. Trying to help my Mom find out.

Who's the beneficiary? If mom is, ask for a claim form from the insurer. Fill out and send copy of death certificate. Ask them over the phone. It should be a standard procedure.
