Wow I really dislike list like this because it leaves out so many important folks. Since I have a feeling this started in FE, I'll add one that should have already been mentioned.

FE posters are extremely "cliquish". If you don't sell FE and you try to give some ideas - even though you disclose that you don't sell FE - it's automatically discounted as wrong and you're asked to prove your production to prove your expertise.
I don't get that kind of treatment in the P&C or any other area of the forum. And I've never sold P&C, even though I contribute some cold-calling and cross-selling ideas from time to time.
Every post is up to the reader to determine if it suits them or not. I'm not responsible for anyone's actions or inactions on my ideas.
In essence, this thread is really saying "DHK, stay out of our sandbox."

That is simply not true. Doesn't happen that way and it didn't happen to you either.
You presented something different than the norm so you were were asked how well your different idea worked.
I don't go into those other forums unless I'm looking for an answer on something so I don't know if they ask someone that doesn't do what they for advice.
It would really be stupid for a disability specialist to ask me how to sell disability. It would be even more stupid for me to go into that forum and start giving them unsolicited advice on how to run heir business. And totally ignorant on their part to not ask me for results if I did so.
You gave advice on something. When asked how well your idea worked you wouldn't/could't answer. Then you got your panties in wad a have been wining ever since.
I doubt you are right about what you are saying about other forums but if you are, shame on them.
But I also doubt that agents go into other forums where they don't work like so many do into the FE forum.
There is one guy that doesn't sell any kind of insurance that I see visiting just about every sub forum and not only visiting, giving advice. Seems more of a hobby to him than anything. Almost groupie like.
But I will never understand your argument. I have shown horses all my life. I participate in a few horse show forums. When someone presents a new training technique or feed supplement or anything like that they will be asked about results. And most will want credentials that this person is someone to listen to. That's expected. Not run from.
Take it a step further. If an electrician is working at your house and gets stumped by a problem. You think he's just gonna go out to the road flag down whoever is driving by and ask them how to fix the problem?
Bottom line, no one "discounted" your idea. You were simply asked how well your idea worked.

I'm pretty sure there is more than one that will fit this description. Serial posters who refuse to let us know who they are have zero credibility.

Tell "them" to kiss your pucker. I get that from "them" all the time. But get many more emails and PMs from the regular guys. I have even been told dbag is saying this or dbag is saying that. But I really do not care.
There are many ways to do what we do. You are always going to have "them" tell everyone that everything else is a failed business model. Till they adopt it that is. OK, maybe just allude that X does not work or if it does for someone it is an anomaly. Phone sale, Internet, door knocking, delivering policies, quoting over the phone, yada, yada yada......
