Just came out in their newsletter last night.

Right now, it's a graded 8%/4%/2.5% scale on 4-150 lives. Moving to (per month):

4-15 lives: $30 individual, $60 family
16-25 lives: $25 individual, $50 family
26-50 lives: $20 individual, $40 family

If there are 50+ lives it will stay the same.

No surprise whatsoever here. BCBS is one of the stingiest companies with agent commissions, due to arrogance over their size and cachet among the public as a whole.

What is it about Health Reform that is going to so greatly affect the small group market anyway? They already have guaranteed issue protection. Just another excuse for BCBS to let agents know that we're not wanted I suppose. The feeling is mutual.

I predict similar commissions for individual post 2014 w/ no changes.

Gone will be income based on premium size. It will be a volume business.

The high volume agents will survive, and even thrive. The rest of the agents will revert to selling Tupperware.
