People will voluntarily leave their current plan for the good of the ACA. Don't worry about that....

It depends, Goldenrule is stating that FL (green) policies will expire on 9/30/15. This is due to the fact that the "extension" was for policies in effect before 10/1/13. So the latest renewals dates can only be Sept 30th of each year.

It will depend on each carrier and how they did their extensions, and anniversary dates.

THANK YOU! Very helpful information. BCBSTX moved renewal dates to 12/01/13 so what does that mean for the BCBSTX members?

Had a 64 y.o. client call today because her $1,250 ded. 2012 BCBS-IL HSA policy increased from $518 to $688 per month. Husband passed last Winter..she can't handle the premium. Wanted a higher deductible.

BCBS-IL says that they are not allowing ANY changes in deductibles, or plans for pre-2014 policies. That stinks!

Put her on a BCBS-IL STM for $198.00 per month for 5 months until her Medicare kicks in on 11/1/2014. (Perfectly healthy...thankfully.)

It looks like some companies are attempting to force existing clients into the post-2014 pool by increasing pre-2014 plan premiums at ever steeper rates and not allowing plan changes that can lower the premium. If most companies are doing this, there won't be many people left in the "extended" plans come 2016.
