Humana Transitioning to Unlisted Plans?

I started looking at renewal notices for my clients in Georgia and it looks like Humana is planning on upgrading current plans to ACA compliant levels instead of switching to 2014 plans.

The rates (without subsidy) are significantly higher (at least 100%) but still lower than comparable 2014 plans (and in the same range as the least expensive Bronze plan with the National POS Network).

As an example, a family of 5, parents in their 40's on a Enhanced Copay 80, $5K deductible, current premium $372

Is being transitioned to Enhanced Copay 80, $3500 deductible, premium of $805.

In 2014, a Bronze 6300 POS plan is $757 and the comparable Silver plan ($4650 deductible) is $967.

Has anyone else noticed this? I don't have Florida renewals yet so don't know if they are doing the same thing in other states. My recommendation for clients who are not subsidy eligible will probably be to keep this plan.

$805
-372
=433/month!

What average middle-class client can afford this?

I'm seeing 15-20% rate increases on H's legacy policies.
I can't see the renewal letters & was assuming that the benefits remained the same as they've always been.
Where do you see the renewal letters?

I don't have the letter, just the renewal options at the bottom of the policy info on Agent Workbench. Here is an example:

Renewal Information
Renewal Date 1/1/2015 Renewal Category 60 Day
Current Premium $254.85 Letter Mail Date 10/6/2014
APTC N/A

Current Product : Renewal Premium $0
Plan Copay / 70% OV Benefits 3 visits after copay; $35 PCP/$60 Specialist; then 70% after deductible
Deductible Indv / Family 5000 / 15000
Drug Benefit $1,000 In-Net Max OOP n/a
GrandFathered Indicator N Essential Health Benefits

Alternate Product : Alternate Plan Premium $766.87
Plan Copay / 70% OV Benefits 3 visits after copay; $35 PCP/$60 Specialist; then 70% after deductible
Deductible Indv / Family 2500 / 5000
Drug Benefit $1,000 In-Net Max OOP $5000 ind/$10000 fam after deductible
GrandFathered Indicator N Essential Health Benefits

To me this shows that they can keep their current plan structure but with the plan upgraded with all of the EHB's-Copay 70 isn't listed anywhere on the 2014 product portfolio.

The increase is ridiculous, of course, and this family will get a subsidized plan with Humana for less than their current premium. I do have another family, however, where the increased premium of their current plan is actually lower than the lowest Bronze plan so it might make some sense.

Association legacy plans are terminated.

Other legacy plans are being "Obamacized" to bring them into compliance. I am seeing rates increase from $400 to $600 on renewal for "similar" benefits. One family is currently paying around $550 going to $1200+ in 2015.

Most of these folks are middle class. Earn to much to qualify for a subsidy.

2014 Obamacare plans increasing around 20%.

Elections have consequences.
