A friend of mine about a year ago had a friend who knows how to do siding repairs she paid him in full and he has now left the home unfinished and exposed to the elements siding incomplete trim boards not trimmed off etc I am wondering if her insurance company would step in and take any sort of action whether its repair it pay for it or sue the contractor any answers are helpful thank you

I missed this question when you asked it.

The short answer is 'NO'. Insurance companies will not pick up where contractors left off. You can go after the contractors bond or his policy if the work is faulty (and incomplete is faulty).

I completely agree with DJS. Your friend should have called the insurance company before initiating the repair work in the house.

the problem is that that "friend" might be just a handyman and bare with no insurance or bonds.
