Ed Slott shows he’s a huge fan of life insurance in an interview he did recently with Insurance Forums, in advance of his Elite IRA Advisor Group meeting this week in Denver.

You can check out the article at the link below, and comment here on the philosophies he talks about and the niche he has been able to carve out as an IRA distribution specialist (and life insurance’s important role in that process).

Slott says life insurance as a tax strategy is being used effectively by insurance advisors – but only those with specialized knowledge who know how to make the transition from traditional IRAs and 401(k)s to a vehicle like life insurance that can take away the tax and investment risk.

Mr. Slott stated, "But that’s because they may not be educated enough on the retirement tax rules and they don’t know how to make the transition from a 401k or IRA to an insurance policy in a complete plan. That’s what we teach in our programs."

As a consumer I would be interested in exploring the process of transitioning from a 401K to an insurance policy as referenced in the article written by Brian Anderson.
