Just when you thought things weren't going to get any worse, here is a little tidbit I thought I would pass along to brighten your day!

--from UHC:

The QA Team has been advised from the CMS regional office that they have representatives making outbound calls to agents regarding sales events. The calls are driven by events which we advertise or from the event listing sent monthly to CMS. (UHC OnDemand Reporting)
It is imperative that your agents know that they may receive a call from a CMS representative regarding one of their events. When an agent speaks to CMS, they may or may not identify themselves as CMS. However, the agents must answer each question truthfully and correctly.
Examples of questions you may anticipate are; 1) confirmation of the meeting location, 2) confirmation that the agent they are speaking to is the agent who is presenting, 3) whom should consumers ask for when they arrive at the meeting and last 4) was the agent aware of the new CMS Regulations that are related to marketing/sales events. These are examples of questions asked in recent calls, however CMS may ask more. Also, the event the CMS agent refers to during the call will most likely be an event that is secret shopped by CMS.

Gee, I'm just full of good news, aren't I? Have a nice day!:twitchy:

Can we ask the "representative" some questions, like: Are you commission based or receiving a salary? Are you receiving a percentage of monies you received for the last couple of years? Is your payment in line with current market conditions like mine? Do you have to warn an agent 48 hours ahead of time that you are going to ask questions? Do I have to return a card of interest before you can call me? Jeez, it seems these kind of constraints would greatly inhibit a CMS representative from the timely completion of his job. Who in their wildest dreams would enact such restrictive regulations-- why, it would be downright un-American..?

Does this sound like the good old USA with the free enterprise system or a socialistic state? When the people expect the government to take care of them (think medicare) then freedoms are given up in exchange. I think there are plenty of seniors in America who would be very offended at these measures. Just because they have turned 65 does this mean that they cannot think for myself and make decisions for myself. Have they became wards of the state who have to be sheltered from insurance agents?
