Just want confirmation here. A client has been on a supp for many years but wants to go to a MAPD plan. He has to wait for the AEP right?

No not in itself

but you need to learn about the states drug assistance programs
so you can create SEP for some people

Also need to know your stuff well so you don't get yourself in trouble
and need help them understand what they might be loosing by switching

It will save you a lot of headaches in the future

I told him i dont recommend switching. He is 90 yo and never gets sick and said theyre tired of paying for it.

Assuming he has a plan F, what about downgrading to a plan N?
He could save anywhere from $70-$100/mo depending on the company and area of FL he lives in.

at 90 years old the likely hood of him never being sick in future I mean
I shouldn't need to tell you

I had sold a woman a MAPD from a supplement
when I was in my 1st year

explained everything to the T

but 3 months in she was had some things and said I took away her coverage
when she needed it the most

I used the trial period SEP to get her back into Supp

but she still had to answer medical questions
the only one I could get her approved for was AARP level 2 premium

but luckily it was still cheaper then the bankers plan she originally gave up

----------

But if I were not able to get her the AARP

It would have been a big issue
