10%+ Increases Will Now Be "reviewed"

"How about they investigate every Medical bill that increases by a % over the previous year this would also have the side benefit of helping to keep insurance increases down "

They get too many kickbacks from the medical industry to attack this HUGE factor in rising healthcare costs.

The idiots in Washington DC think:
HealthCare = HealthInsurance

So true but their idoicy shall be exposed when the carriers meet the MLR requirements but still require 10%+ increases due to medical costs rising...the question is will they just hold hearing and grill executives or will they focus on the entire healthcare picture?

will they focus on the entire healthcare picture?

Math and logic are not their strong suits, as evidenced by their inability to live within their budget.

You don't have to be all that smart to figure this out.

If carriers must spend 80% on claims and no more than 20% on admin and you want to make premiums more affordable, consider this.

Cut admin by 10% and you save 2% in premiums.

Cut claims by 10% and you save 8% in premiums.

This isn't rocket surgery.

Your forgetting all they care about is soundbites and looking good for the cameras.

They're smart. They have it figured out. Demonizing insurance companies is both easy and the first step towards their real goal ... single payer. The doctors will get boned after the insurers are taken out.

Don't forget the patients :0

Very true. When the rates don't come under control with MLR they will no longer be able to make villains of the insurance companies and while this would be a great moment to throw the whole piece of crap bill out and start over, they will instead use it to propagate a single payer program and give us some line that it's the only way to control the cost since private industry cannot do it.

Everything wrong with healthcare IN THE FIRST PLACE is the government in the way.

-Selling Across State Lines
-Malpractice Suits
-Mandatory Plan Designs
-Medicaid & Medicare

I'm sure we could list 20 other ways that the government has a direct correlation to lack of competition, cost of doing business, cost of medicine/medical services. The system is not broken, the government is and until we have a dramatic reduction in government our economy, not just health care, cannot sustain the path it's on.

On another note, I sent my Resume To Shebullshits to head up the role of Navigator Czar. Hopefully she doesn't read this post!
