I got the email from UHC about eliminating OEV calls but I didn't see anything about eliminating the SOA.

I thought they did that 2 years ago. Maybe I've been mistaken. Oops.

Rick is just messing with you on the Scope.

I can't see Scopes ever going away but it would be nice if CMS did some major revisions. It is supposed to "protect" the client but in its current form all it ever seems to do is confuse and annoy them.

I have yet to have a client say anything positive about having to sign a scope. When I tell them they will need to sign and initial a form at least 48 hours in advance of our meeting and explain the reasoning behind it, they almost uniformly say something like, "that's ridiculous".

I have yet to have an appointment that wasn't indicated on the scope as "next day appt." or "same day appt."

The few that I mailed out were waiting for me unsigned at the time of the appointment.
