According to an extremely alarming article by Insurance Business Mag "California voters oppose proposed reforms that would provide insurance companies more leeway to set their rates in exchange for insuring homeowners in high wildfire risk areas, according to a poll commissioned by Consumer Watchdog."

Given how poorly explained the "plan" is, that might not be too surprising, but much of the rest of the article is shocking/surprising/odd:
- "only 9% of voters voiced “strong” support for the insurance commissioner’s initiatives."
- 55% of voters support the idea of denying insurance companies the right to sell car insurance in California if they refuse to sell homeowners and renters insurance to customers
I am not sure that I read these results to support that "Voters" want more regulation. However, it does appear that Lara's plan is DOA.
