CSE (West Coast Regional) Pulling out if NV & AZ

CSE (Civil Service Employees) Insurance sent out an email today that they will be non-renewing and pulling out of Arizona and Nevada. The odd thing is it says they will do this Oct of 2026 (NV home and auto & AZ home). That is a lot of heads up, unless that is a type-o.

CSE has been around since 1949 and been in Nevada at least for the last 20 years. They used to be incredibly priced on home and auto for teachers, post office workers, police, firefighters and other civil servant occupations. The last 5 years they have been a shell of former self and sold to different owners, so this isn't exactly shocking but figured worth a post.

Here is the email sent to agents today:

Due to difficult insurance market conditions, CSE is exiting the states of Nevada and Arizona. Non-renewals for all Arizona and Nevada lines of business will be issued beginning September 6, 2023.

Non-renewals will be effective as noted below:

· Arizona Auto Non-Renewal Effective 10/26/2023

· Arizona Property Non-Renewal Effective 10/11/2026

· Nevada Auto and Property Non-Renewal Effective 10/11/2026

I do not know those markets as well as CA. But frankly the market on a national level for personal lines P&C seems in some ways to potentially to be following FL and CA's lead. Sad as it is to say. Yes possibly a typo?

Quick Update, having fun trying to call dozens of people about to non renew and letting them know we re-quoted but (most) are at higher prices. Thanks CSE!
