.5-1.5% response rate average for most insurance mailers sounds right. If you mail the same list multiple times that could go higher since most people need to see a message 5-7 times before responding.

Thanks guys, I ran the numbers and realized that I shouldn't do it w/ insurance until AEP. As of right now my acquisition costs are lower w/ teh interwebz.

Be more concerned about ROI than response rate.

Response rate in and of itself is an incomplete picture of rating sales campaign success.

I produce my own direct mail piece for mortgage protection in Florida and have a steady rate of return of 2-3% weekly. Another agent I know in central Florida does the same and sees a slighlty higher rate of 4-5% (lucky dog!) so our question to the kind folks on this forum, can anyone recommend a lead company for the FE market as well? Thanks!
