family glitch work around

Client is 60 and married to a t65 in Oct of 2022 guy.

She has ins on her job, he has it on his. He can add the younger spouse but the price skyrockets.
If he moves to Medicare 10/1/22 (and still continues to work full time) and the wife retires she'd save a boatload getting a subsidy.

Since the husband doesn't take the group plan technically she isn't eligible for insurance through a 3rd party.....anyone see this work in real life or have any feedback?
