If A Record Has Been Sealed Or Expunged, Do You Have To Reveal It?

It may depend on how the question is worded. If you were ever "charged" technically it might be yes and even expunged the initial charge can usually be found. However various states as others have suggested have more specific laws dealing with what can be used for employment etc.

Expunged....erased or removed completely.

In other words, let's move on as they won't find it. If somehow they were to find it they won't appoint you. Move on to the next carrier. It's just this easy.

The best way to find out if this happened is to go to the Court where your case was and ask to see the documents. If they do not have them, the case was expunged, and some private company has the records and provide them when the background check was done. Expungement of public court records is only one step in the expungement process and is good enough for most people. It is usually deleted from the databases within 10 years, so you can consult with a specialist from erasethecase.com to check this.
