IL DOI: Insurer Filings Are Now Online For Public Viewing.

FYI...The Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) is now providing online access for consumers to view insurance company records.

Insurance product filings, such as rates and forms, filed with DOI are now available to the public through the online tool SERFF Filing Access (SFA).

SERFF filing from Humana indicates that the company is making quite a few plan changes..and some cancellations. The most obvious to my untrained (SERFF) eye is that Humana is cancelling its Platinum plans and moving these customers to Gold plans as of 1/1/2015.

Several companies across the country are getting rid of low-deductible Platinum plans because most of the people enrolling in them are those who need the most medical care.

A batch of SERFF filings this week from BCBS, Humana, Golden Rule and United Health. Plans being terminated, created, changed, etc.. In particular, take a look at the new Summary of Benefits schedules that were posted today by United Healthcare, for all their new 2015 Metal plans in Illinois.

From the codes UHC is using, it appears that they will be only selling off-exchange plans in Illinois. (Other companies show an off-exchange and on-exchange list. UHC is just showing one set of Benefit summaries.)
