Insuranceleads.com - Going from Bad to Worse

My InsuranceLeads.com rep was pretty good about helping me get credits back. I used them for auto leads so I guess it could vary by the type of lead. I have a positive ROI with them over the last 2 years going back and forth between Quote Wizard as well. Internet business is only 10% of my book.

They've given us credit... but not on all - and we can't ask for credit on the ones we KNOW are bogues, but have no PROOF.

I just found another one that they didn't give us credit on where the prospect was looking for a PDP - not a med supp. Stuff like that pisses me off.

We used to have a very good thing going with them.. back when Stephanie Brewer was there. Then she found greener pastures and everything started to go to hell in a handbasket. We were then assigned a new guy who lasted.. about three weeks.

They're all doing affiliate leads now, and third-hand ones at that. If you ask the people you talk to what website they're on when they submitted the leads, you'll be quite shocked. I found they were using sites such as BestMedicaidChoices.com - Health insurance quotes in just minutes! and delivering those "leads" as Medicare Supplement leads when people obviously went there seeking Medicaid information.

Another one that came up over and over again was YourFreeQuotes.com - Health insurance quotes in just minutes!. They were all looking for Dental, of course. Oh, and the other big one of theirs: Save $100s on Health and Dental Insurance! Get Free Quotes..

Here are just a few of the 150 sites from this one affiliate that's feeding insuranceleads.com:

They pay this affiliate $5 per "lead" and he gets plenty of them. Here's their site trolling for affiliate leads..

Yep, they've definitely seen better days there.

Now, my account there shows "Account Rep: First Available". ie: Nobody! Nice! The last guy told me that they laid off their entire staff but saved 10. Now he's gone.

generating your own leads becomes a full time job. it's hard to juggle an advertising campaign, employees, and handling your book of business. You can't just put up adword campaigns and expect it to be successful. You need to implement other forms of advertising in order for it to profit your agency. I found out all of this information from trial and error. I also take classes for SEO twice a month.

Wow, DaytonaGuy... I guess there is all the proof we need.

I guess that pretty much explains everything. Thanks.

BTW, Stepanie used to be our rep... then Luis... now "First Available"

Well, this explains a lot.
First they fired most of their staff, then they started feeding the phonebook in as leads, now they're sold out, lock, stock, and ....well, you know.

One can only hope this is an improvement. It could not have gotten any worse. They must have lost 99% of their agents by now. It will be very hard to climb back with how far they let it go.

In my experience lead companies go through progressions when they're generating their own leads, the older and larger they get the worst the lead quality. They'll do everything to maximize profitability that smaller companies wouldn't and god forbid you get bought out by someone like Quinstreet.

If you find a good lead vendor don't share the name, it's like sharing your wife with your best friend. Sure you love both, but they don't need to love each other...

The bigger they get, the more leads they need and that means they have to start selling crappy leads to fill in the gaps.
