This is the only letter she has received. Same letter everyone else in the Piedmont Wellstar system got. Everyone, including Medicare, knows the plan is discontinued for 2016.


Citing costs, the two metro Atlanta systems have told medical providers that they’re discontinuing their Medicare Advantage plan for next year. The current 12,000 Medicare beneficiaries will have options to switch to another Advantage plan or to receive care in the traditional program.

Piedmont WellStar HealthPlans won’t offer your Medicare plan in 2016. This means your coverage through Piedmont WellStar Medicare Choice (HMO) will end December 31, 2015. You need to make some decisions about your Medicare coverage. If you don’t take action before December 31, you will lose your prescription drug coverage and only have Original Medicare starting January 1, 2016.
