you may want to post this in the retirement planning forum to see if there are others there with more recent connection to BD searches

With all the changes in securities regulations, the large increase in fixed costs to hold securities licenses, lower payouts & lower compensation, a lot of insurance agents that had held securities licenses have given them up in the last 5-10 years.

Most just didnt generate enough revenue to cover the costs or justify the time & energy to focus on that aspect
