So, what is the deal with EMD's? I heard they weren't valuable anymore (at least for Google), and that a properly named page under your main domain was probably better. Which is true? Should I be buying domain names or just creating more pages with targeted keywords in the page name?

Keep in mind that an EMD might rank very well if only 15 people per month are searching for it. If 500 are searching, you better have good content.
As an example,I bought yumpies.com last year because I liked the sound of it. And yea, I will try to make an insurance site out of it some day.
Little did I realize that the prior owner was using it to sell pies!!! (YUM PIES). I'm not sure if that will help or hinder.

Sure..... I heard it will help my cousins' neighbor who has a friend, whose sisters' son will benefit from Obamacare. He's needs an immunization shot.
