Part B penalty appeal

Hi axeman462,

Out of curiosity, may I inquire why she is wanting to appeal her Part B penalty? Depending upon the reason, there may be other ways to go about it.

I am not an agent so I don't have an answer for that based on interactions with clients or social security.

Mailing would be my best guess.

Information here:
The United States Social Security Administration
Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) | How to Get Help from Social Security | SSA

Indicates that SSA is planning to reopen some offices on April 7, so if your client wants to wait and fight the crowds, that might be another option.
thank you, I appreciate the insight

Caveat, not an agent.

I took a lot of heat here awhile back for suggesting the "request for reconsideration" form for a Part B appeal.

Have you had any clients use that successfully for some type of Part B related appeal?

When I hear “penalty”, I think of the +10% for not enrolling in Part B timely.
Her income was too high past 2 years, now it's lower because she retired.. you are I write, I should have not used the word penalty
