Just had two agents call us last week & yesterday I verified with the company. They are no longer writing new business & they've cancelled all agents writing business with them.

That is incredible. Does that mean that Sentry is basically out of business?

For now they are only servicing policies is what the lady at their home office told me. Not writing any new business "at this time" & "they have cancelled all agent contracts" she told me.
Odd thing is, I've not seen anything on the web about this & they don't admit it on their site. You have to call them to find this out.

It looks like Sentry is re-organizing how they sell & service auto & home insurance. Independent agents representing them should be okay :

They are still players in Commercial and their nonstandard auto program of Dairyland, but yes, they have eliminated their personal lines division over a 90 second conference call to all 190 employees.
Too bad for the captive Sentry agents. I wonder what becomes of them?
