Here is one idea...

I just got a list of cd owners from a friend who works
@ a bank. I am going to send a direct mail piece comparing
cd rates to fixed annuity rates..

If we follow your logic on how to prospect for business.
We could just go to the doctors office and ask for a list of the clients that have a specific illness so we could market to them.

Maybe get a friend that works for an insurance home office
to get you a list of people that have term contracts with them that are about to expire. That would be nice.

I don't think your criminal just over zealous.

aggressive would be a fitting word.

I was jk about the cd owners list by the way...lol

I wish I had a list like that but I don't.

It's so stupid I said this as a joke when I posted it.

I have thought about asking a friend @ the bank if
he could get such a list but figured I would get my
friend fired.

Some guy called me tonight from these forums and said
I am going to call the Tx dept. of insurance and tell them
about your post.

It's like really dude...lol

I don't have and never had such a list.

I just wanted to see what kind of response I
would get saying that. I honestly wish I had a
list of cd owners. The only time I did have a list
of cd owners I worked for bank one. We called them
and pitched them to move the fixed annuities.
It was a very easy sell. That's why I said that.
This was way back in 2003.

whoever the person was who called me...call me again unblocked. This is a forum and I would stop taking it so seriously.

Now here is a real annuity prospecting idea that I actually do use...Surveys in neighborhoods where age is 55 plus on average
and house value is high. You can find old money in those areas
that could use your help. Moved 70,000 this week from a survey.
My pay on that product is only 4.5% but that is still $3185 from
one door knock and survey in this case. The client has about 800k in assets I could potentially move down the road.

I simply try to get into conversations with people...they can be strangers or friends/acquaintances and hand them my card and say "I'm a 401K specialist....you know for people that have old 401K's from previous employers....we show them how to roll them over into accounts THEY control instead of their old company, AND how to keep their 401K safe instead of being on the stock market rollercoaster like most people these days! (insert laugh and smile)

This has resulted in many sales for me!
Alot of people will say they have an old 401K and don't know what to do with it, etc. That just opens the door for me to say "ok, well would you like me to quote that for you and see if I can find you a better deal?" that's it......I did $1M in annuities last year pretty much using this approach.
