IMO, it's like a everything else, "more" isn't "better". Try telling that to the average person...
On an aside, ever notice how the cheapest electronics have feature lists a mile long? They list all the obvious stuff that the high end equipment doesn't bother to (like a remote with the TV, a detachable power cable, and a removable stand).
Our consumers are being trained to look for the longest feature list at the lowest price. They ignore quality, value, and support for the thing that does the most at the lowest immediate price.
