How do you recognize whether a site is spam site? And explain the definition of "spam site". I don't understand what you mean under these words... there is no definition in any dictionary or in the wiki ..

Go look at them. Spam sites generally are obvious at first glance, the content looks and reads like it was written by a student in an english as a second language class.

Most times its just someone elses content or plr articles ran through a spinning software to make it "unique" then reposted, with about 20000 backlinks from forum profiles and web2.0 profiles and blog comments.

Those methods of getting backlinks can be done by a simple automated fire and forget script.

You can rank a site just by doing that, if you do enough of it, but after a while it'll usually fall off the rankings.

I guess now it needs much more than 20,000 backlinks.. competition is strong ..;) If you see content looks like written by someone from second language class, it means owner or copywriter does not speak the language well.. perhaps from another country..

But all these sites have the right to exist as other better sites..

Sure, but google isn't require to list them in their search engine.

Thats how it works. They have rules, if you dont follow their rules, they dont have to list you.

So now u can post an anchor text link with just one post, what happened around here?

It doesn't matter. Clearly they are the company they are promoting. They just exposed themselves for what they are (worthless SEO company). If they knew anything about SEO, they would a contextual link in a forum such as this is worthless.

Worthless in terms of adding authority, unless it conveyed traffic - then it's a good link.
No-follow links are still valuable as diversity links also especially if it's niche related...
