What do you care about at the end of the year?

Hey brokers, what do you talk about most with clients toward the end of the year? Or what do they need most from you? How do you feel about your carrier reps, and what can they help you with in the last few months of the year? What do you look for most from local sales offices? On the carrier side, we want to make sure we're meeting brokers' needs.

Might be nice to know the line of coverage.

This is Medicare "season" and many of the agents on this site are working 12 hour days and longer plus weekends.

What are you doing?

How about employee benefits like disability, group life, vision, dental ... and supplemental (accident and critical illness)? Are they taking a back seat with Medicare higher on the priority list?

Wrong time of year for employee benefits too.

Most group plans run on a calendar year. Open enrollment for them starts in late Oct to late Nov. Employees make elections for group and supplemental products.

Agents that offer those product had their carriers lined up for months.

Agents that have time to look for new products or carriers this time of year are probably retired or not very successful.
