I am wanting to buy a new car. I recieved a DWI about 1.5 years ago but insurance still has not found out. If I add a vehicle to policy will they pull driving record? I have been with them for over 20 years and have a clean record other than that.
Maybe, maybe not. Probably not, but no guarantee.
Won't make a difference though, since in most states, driving records are automatically pulled every few years. They will find out very soon. You have been lucky so far.
Usually, any major policy change can cause a full underwriting. New DMV reports tend not to be pulled for vehicle changes, but nobody will guarantee you they won't be. Since you probably already have an SR-22 on your policy, that usually triggers a DMV pull anyway on the next renewal. Timing apparantly worked for you and it didn't get pulled right away, or didn't show up when it was pulled (which is unusual for a DWI).
