Insurance Agents Marketing As "Financial Consultants" Etc.

Business cards are a GREAT way to dismiss the unqualified.

If you're in a meeting and they're just not into the conversation or even combating with you too much, you simply say "I can't think of any way I can help you. Can you think of anything? Well, here's my card if you think of anything. Give me a call and I'll be happy to come back out."

They won't call - ever. And it's a polite way to dismiss yourself so you can talk to a real prospect.

It depends entirely on what your state allows you to do. You can always do less than they require, but you get in trouble if you do more. Any doubt call them and ask what's permissible.

The problem for most agents with advanced designations is they have to explain them as the public has not really been educated in the same way they have about a CPA for example.

Then because my bank teller can wear a pin with her name on it and the title Financial Advisor, I don't over worry this aspect.

Pretty much I just tell people I'm an agent, broker, producer, navigator or what ever they are calling us this year....

My card has what the law allows and nothing much more.
