Better Save Up for AEP

Has no one figured out that CMS views MAPD as the enemy?
The more MAPD's written, the less people needed in CMS to administrate.
If you were a CEO of a company, would you want your organization to get smaller? NO!
CMS wants more original Medicare and therefore favors Medigap over MAPD.
That's why they keep trying to rig the game AGAINST the agent. They keep throwing boulders in our path.
First it was the Scope of Appointment which had to be signed 48 hrs in advance and no cross selling.
Then they started capping commissions.
Then they got Obama to remove the 13% they were getting additional.
Obama slipped in one speech when he reiterated what he was told by CMS - "We gotta get rid of these Medicare Advantage plans"
Now they changed the payout on 1st time enrollees and prorated the commissions - an outright commission cut and a cash flow buster.

CMS does not want MAPD to succeed. If all enrollees took MAPD, what would you need CMS for? You would only need a handful of administrators to handle complaints.

CMS has already floated handling all enrollments themselves, including Medigap policies. This way they could persuade people to take Medigap.
They proposed renewals at 35%.
They do not want MAPD!

If you vote Democrat...this is what you will get.
CMS stands for Communist, Marxist Socialists!

I believe you are wrong they do want MAPD
They just don't want agents to educate the consumer

Believe what u want, but facts tell the story. It's still a viable business, but it could have been much better. Do you know that commissions were slated to be above $600 for a first time enrollee a few years ago, but CMS decided they wanted to squash that and regulated commissions. Just your Socialist government being a bigger and bigger brother!

Again, it's not CMS that doesn't want the consumer to know about options. It's the companies. And those main players have CMS pretty bought and paid for.

That doesn't mean they have to turn the companies that administrate MAPD, which is a Medicare replacement, into Socialist companies (i.e. we work for the government). The whole point of MAPD is to reduce the cost of administrating the care, which CMS has shown they are terrible at. If it saves the government money (i.e. significantly reduces fraud) and it is run within guidelines they set up then what do they care what we are paid? Typical Socialists - more piggy than the people (i.e. Capialists) they claim they despise!

Let's not give CMS a pass here. They are every bit as guilty as the carriers.

there are many examples I wont get into to much

but 1 example is how they implement late enrollment penalties through the INS companies rather then direct

I'm dealing with one client now I cant convince her that it is a Medicare penalty not an Ins company penalty

but all she sees is the letter she got from INS company, That's who she blames as do others

I'll answer both of the above posts, I'm not giving CMS a pass because they should be able to look past the vested interests of the companies. They turn a blind eye for one reason.

As for the clients blaming the companies, that's the proper place for the blame.

Who wants lock in? The companies. Who wants only a certain time of the year for enrollments? The companies.

This whole MMA was a bill of goods sold to congress by the companies.

Humana is basically the regulatory branch of CMS and they made sure most of those regulations don't apply to their captive sales force.

They may be in that position as the defacto rules makers but they are still the ones in charge.

Yes, that is CMS' fault for allowing it to happen. Still doesn't change the fact as to where the buck stops.

I have heard that the guvmint does NOT regulate how much the FMOs receive. Hell, they probably get more than the agent, laughing at our working asses all the way.

Let me school you once again.

Medicare is a socialist program itself. I pointed this out to you once before but you don't seem to understand that.
