CHAMP VA & MAPD or MA Question

A prospect in Hawaii has CHAMP VA. Can they also enroll in a MAPD or MA plan without negative impact to CHAMP VA?

NO, they will not lose ChampVA benefits.

See pg 44 of the ChampVA handbook
Basically ChampVA will pay oop costs (co-pays) of HMO/PPO plans if the care is covered by the Plan.

I never have had to deal with VA benefits + Medicare. I am having a hard time getting solid information on what CHAMP VA will cover if someone has just Medicare A and B. Will it cover the 20% coinsurance, Part A deductible and SNF coinsurance? Thanks in advance.
