More Than 11 Million Americans Are Signed Up for Health Coverage | The White House

The Whitehouse/HHS is putting out deceitful numbers just like they did at the end of the last open-enrollment. They're bragging that 11.4 million people "signed up" for private health insurance without saying that the vast majority of them already had health insurance prior to January 1, 2015. Even the active and passive 2014-to-2015 renewals are counted in the 11.4 million.

The only meaningful statistic is how many people now have health insurance who didn't have it before January 1, 2014. Reducing the number of uninsured was/is the President's number one goal.

The Congressional Budget Office says that 19 million people will have health coverage on March 1st who didn't have it before 1/1/2014. However, 89% of that 19 million are now enrolled in the government health program for the poor, known as Medicaid.
