American National Group, Inc. and Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance Partners Ltd. Merger

This morning we announced that American National and Brookfield Asset Management Reinsurance Partners Ltd. have entered into a definitive merger agreement. Our two companies share a long-term view of building strong, enduring businesses. Brookfield Reinsurance has been very clear: they want us to continue to grow our business, together with our leadership team and our excellent team of employees and distribution partners.

The Moody family's cash cow finally over hemorrhaged. What happens to their joke of a p and c company ANPAC? I doubt the new owners want the Galveston office.
 
ANICO was already a stock company with also a large family trust ownership stake. This isn't as shocking or as big of a deal as if it was a true mutual or mutual holding company.

I doubt much would change with American National.
