Assurant Eliminates Platinum, Gold, and Silver HSA Plans

"I also would like to drive a corvett but the reality is it just don't work..... reality vs dreams....."

Can't get your size 8, 10 gallon stetson in there, eh?

;)

I know, I hate it when my Assurant client calls complaining that they got to keep their doctor, and can see any doctor/specialist they want to without a referral, inside the largest PPO network in the country, and take any drug they want on the largest open formulary.

Their premiums are reflective of this luxury.

These negative comments about Assurant really have no bearing in fact.

I am not pleased with their decision to end agent commissions at all but, at the same time, they have lived up to each and every obligation to both my clients and myself both last year and this year.

Claims are paid promptly, as are commissions.

They have far and away the best available PPO network of any offered in Florida and I am sure many other states.

I placed a ton of business with them last year and was very well rewarded for it and that continued until they ended commissions-if and when they reinstate commissions for agents I will once again recommend their products if rates are competitive.

Compared to Florida Blue, who routinely screws over both agent and subscriber as well as Aetna (among others), Assurant is a shining star-if they go away it will be a loss.

Maybe they are the best in some parts of Florida but certainly not up in the Panhandle.
The Shining Star has flickered and faded away.

Escambia County, 50 year old male, n/s

Assurant Silver 2 PPO $2K deductible with copays: $476
FB Blue Options Everyday Health 1431 Silver $5K deductible with copays: $584
Assurant Platinum 2 PPO: $0 deductible, $2K MOOP with copays: $653
FB Blue Options All Copay 1424: $0 deductible, $2K MOOP with copays: $706

I think you should review the facts before making comments like these.

Since you're only comparing one county (the furthest to the West), why not compare Bay County---right smack in the middle of the Panhandle.
Price is only one part of the equation. How is Assurant's network up here?

If you are so sure you are correct, do some homework and give us the comparative rates on a county by county basis.

Assurant's network (Aetna Signature PPO) is as strong (or stronger) than Blue Options, that is a wash. And when it comes to customer service, even now they are head and shoulders above the idiots that work for Florida Blue.
