Cold Calling T65

I agree, this is the money maker. Frank knows his stuff, he and Craig Ritter are super experienced gurus, so unlike underage (health) where we knew changes were coming, there is nothing on the board for med supps, just med advantage which makes med supps even more viable.

Because I said so? haha

I have never been one to run around yelling "the sky is falling" nor do I believe in "blowing smoke" at people. Everything I do I have always approached with a positive attitude. I look at all the information available at the time and use that to make what I think is a well informed, intelligent decision.

Could it happen? Sure, anything is possible. Rick could become a borne again Christian, Al could start agreeing with everyone and become a Republican.

Med Supps have always stood out as a unique product in the insurance industry. No other kind of insurance that I am aware of pays the agent first year commission for the first six years in almost all states. The plans are standardized and must be the same from company to company and state to state with only a couple of exceptions.

They do not fall under the definition of the recent legislation even though a lot of agents, the "sky is falling" group, argued with those of us who knew they didn't.

But, answer this question. Why weren't Med Supps included in the recent legislation? Why did MOO increase the commission? In seventeen years I have never seen that happen, not ever. It doesn't sound to me as though commissions are going to go South.

None of us "really" know much of anything before it really happens. They say the world is going to end in 2012 but I'm not concerned about that either, at least not today.

In other words I can't tell you why I don't think it will happen for the same reasons others cannot present information saying that it will happen. Most things in insurance are just a WAG at best until it is reduced to writing.

I have no plans to change what I'm doing.

Great advice!!

Many seem to be forgetting that most people turning 65 whether inundated with calls or mailers, etc still BUY from someone, and if you're better than the rest, it will be you! It doesn't really take take longer and if it does, so what, get the sale, it's called earning your income!!

Can they buy from a postcard? No.

Will they buy from an agent who knows less than they do? No.

Will they buy from an expert who takes time with them, educates them and puts their needs first, most every time!

The sales process (and client's savvy) has changed a bit over the last decade or so, but if you adapt, and embrace change, you can increase your net worth. If you continue using archaic methods and mentalities, you will become extinct.

Just because someone doesn't do or won't do something, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Just because you may have a nice residual doesn't mean everyone does. Some NEED to sell, every day, not meander about taking whatever comes their way, hoping they close sales.

Interesting!!

The T65 prospects that I have come across are looking to get educated, as opposed to shopping. I help them get educated. I leverage my time by getting in front of 15 seniors at a time, and for 2 hours educate them. I never sell them. They really appreciate that. When we meet (often times at my office to leverage my time further), I educate them some more. Then they buy from me. The time spent is not onerous. I am not writing a ton of apps conducting business in this fashion, but I am happy with my results and have grown my apps written each month. I can envision getting more referrals than I currently receive, doing more seminars than I currently do in order to achieve my ultimate goal- in 4 years have a nice renewal stream of income.

The correct answer is as soon as possible. T65 is VERY limited and you aren't the only one with that list. Close the deal well before their window (prior to the 3 month prior to their b-day month). I would go as far having them fill out the app w/o a signature and then return the day of eligibility and sign it then. GreenSky is right with the follow-up. Keep good records and they become your T66, T67, etc.

I have 2,809 in SC from a database updated earlier this week. 17,356 without DNC scrub. I guess I better find out who my extra 500 are before everyone else.

Counts can also change from day to day though, although usually not 500 records.

This stuff here would go from 1.5-2.5 cents per name depending on how many states (volume) you buy. I also have the mailable side for those that just do direct mail. Mailing to a non call list always results in better response.
